International Enterprise & Innovation Society Inc. ("EIS," "we," "us") is a nonprofit corporation based in Boca Raton, Florida, USA. This notice explains how we handle personal information in connection with Honorary Fellowship invitations and public Fellow profiles.
When we identify a candidate for an Honorary Fellowship, we gather professional information from publicly available sources, including OpenAlex, ORCID, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, and your institution's own public staff or faculty page. This typically includes your name, academic title, institutional affiliation, field, a small number of publication references, and, where available under an open license, a professional photograph. If you accept an invitation, we prepare a short public biography from this same public information and, if you have an ORCID iD, we may link it to your public profile in the background.
We do not purchase data from third parties, and we do not process financial, health, or other sensitive personal data as part of this program.
We process this information to identify appropriate candidates for Honorary Fellowship, to correspond with candidates about the Fellowship, and, for those who accept, to publish and maintain a public Fellow profile in the Society's online directory. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a nonprofit fellowship and recognition program, balanced against your rights, which are described below. Because we are based in the United States, information about candidates outside the U.S. is transferred to and stored in the United States.
If a candidate does not respond to an invitation, or declines it, we retain the candidate's contact and evaluation information for up to 12 months, after which it is deleted. If you ask us not to contact you again (opt-out), we keep only the minimum information necessary — your e-mail address — on a permanent suppression list, so that we do not contact you again. If you are a published Fellow and later ask us to remove your profile, we remove it from the public directory and delete the associated profile content.
Profile photographs are drawn only from your own public professional sources — your ORCID profile, Wikimedia Commons under an open license (with attribution preserved), or your own institutional profile page — never from unrelated sources. If no suitable photograph is available, we display a neutral placeholder showing your initials. You can replace or remove your photo at any time using your personal profile link, and removal requests sent to president@eisociety.org are honored within 48 hours.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to our processing of it. To exercise any of these rights, or to ask a question about this notice, please write to president@eisociety.org. If you are a Fellow, you can also make many changes yourself at any time using your personal profile link, without needing to contact us.
We use Resend (resend.com) solely to deliver e-mail on our behalf. Resend processes message content and delivery metadata as our data processor and does not use it for its own purposes. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this site, and this page does not set any cookies.
We may update this notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices. The "last updated" date above shows when it was last revised.
